Application Instructions

Earning your master’s degree in health coaching starts with our online application.

To begin your application, you’ll need to create an account at our learning portal. From there, you’ll complete the entire process online. Your progress will be saved, so you don’t need to complete the entire application at once, and you can return to your application at any time by logging back in.

You’ll need a few different types of documentation to complete the application. These are detailed below. If you have technical difficulties or additional questions, contact us at info@ihcu.com.

 

Begin your application

Current Resume or CV

Your resume should highlight your achievements in your professional career and academic studies, along with any research, scholarships, prizes, awards, publications, or related extracurricular activities. The resume must include month and year for start and end dates for each position held. Your resume must be submitted with your online application.

Transcripts

Applicants must hold at minimum, a four-year bachelor’s or higher level degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or an equivalent level degree from another country. In addition, applications must have graduated from a health coaching program. To meet this requirement, candidates are required to upload a copies of both their degree and health coaching program transcripts. Printouts and copies of your transcripts obtained from your university and health coaching program are acceptable as part of your application, however please be aware upon acceptance, you will be required to submit official transcripts.

 

Degree transcripts

Please be sure that the copy of your bachelor’s or higher level degree transcripts uploaded with your application includes and clearly shows:

  • The complete name of the institution
  • The degree earned, and the date it was conferred
  • All courses/classes taken as part of the degree program, and the grades (marks) earned for each course
  • The corresponding dates or academic terms for the courses taken

Please also include the page that displays the university transcript key. (This is typically found on the back of one or more pages.)

 

Health Coaching Transcripts

Please be sure that the copy of your health coaching transcripts uploaded with your application includes and clearly shows:

  • The complete name of the health coaching institution
  • All courses/classes taken as part of the program
  • The corresponding dates or academic terms for the courses taken
  • The length of program (hours and weeks)

 

Copies of diplomas, professional certificates or licenses, or other similar documents are not acceptable substitutions. If the transcripts are in a language other than English, an official translation must be included. International transcripts must be submitted with all components listed in the World Education Service (WES) Required Documents standards. Applicants are NOT required to submit any documents to WES for translation, but rather, use their standards as a guideline to assure all required transcript components are uploaded and submitted with the application. Upon acceptance, applicants will be required to submit official transcripts from each university and health coaching program attended. Official digital transcripts are preferred. Mailed transcripts must be submitted in sealed envelopes signed by the appropriate university and health coaching training officials. Transcripts may also be sent directly from your university and health coaching program to the IHCU Admissions Office. The official grading scale of the academic institution must also be submitted.
